MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and 1100 5G 6nm architecture-based mobile SoCs announced

Realme will be among the first OEMs to launch a phone with the new Dimensity 1200. Until today, the entire Dimensity series was fabbed on a 7nm process, but that just changed – the Dimensity 1200 and 1100 are MediaTek’s first 6nm chipsets. And they are the first to use the Cortex-A78 core. The two are based on the same raw hardware, but target slightly different bins. The Dimensity 1200 is the premium offering. Its CPU has a 1+3+4 configuration with a A78 core is running at 3.0GHz, plus three more A78 cores at 2.6GHz and the usual quartet of power-efficient A55 cores running at 2.0GHz. For comparison, the Dimensity 1000+ used an older A77 core that topped out at 2.6GHz. These numbers line up just right with ARM's official estimates - a 3.0GHz A78 is 20% faster than a 2.6GHz A77. That's for single-threaded performance, of course, as only one core in each chipset reaches those frequencies. Overall CPU performance is up by 22% and power efficiency is up 25% compared to previous ge

MediaTek intros new SoC for 5G CPE wireless devices

MediaTek has announced its latest 5G chipset designed to power next-generation 5G CPE wireless products, such as fixed wireless access routers (FWA) and mobile hotspots named  T750. The MediaTek T750 chipset supports 5G sub-6GHz frequencies and two component carrier aggregation (2CC CA) for extended coverage, making it ideal for indoor and outdoor fixed wireless access products, like home routers, as well as mobile hotspots. In addition, the T750 design, which includes a 5G NR FR1 modem, quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 processors and the required peripherals all on a single chip, offers performance and time-to-market advantages that speed up ODM/OEM development times, the chipmaker indicated. MediaTek indicated the highly-integrated, 7nm compact chip design comes with an integrated 5G radio and quad-core Arm CPU. It's full-featured with all the essential functions and peripherals for device makers to build high performance consumer premise equipment products in the smallest form factors p
